10 Steps to Building a New Home (Our Process)

September 9, 2022

At Paul Gray Homes, we understand that building a new home is a huge investment of money, time, and emotion. We are here to make the process as smooth as possible! When you work with us, you can anticipate open communication and transparency at all times. Our home- building process follows these 10 easy steps.

Meet With Paul Gray Homes

At this initial meeting, we go over your ideas, price range, and location for building your new home.

Contract

The next step is to write a contract after your building plan and price are finalized.

Financing

You take your completed contract to your lender to be underwritten, and you bring back a commitment letter from them after appraisal. Once we have that, we are ready to move forward!

Redline Meeting

The final meeting before construction begins. We will review your home plans for any changes and go through the selection guide and timeline.

Start Building Your New Home

It’s time to break ground on your new home!

Rough-In Walkthrough

We will discuss the placement of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. It’s important to do this step before moving any further along.

Trim Walkthrough

We will verify all design accents and placement of detail items, along with pantry and closet shelf placement.

New Home Orientation

It’s time to walk through all the operational aspects of your new home! We also take time at this meeting to identify the remaining punch-list items that need to be completed before closing.

Closing

Congratulations! The home-building process is now complete! It’s time to close on your new home.

You are backed by a 12-month home warranty on quality and craftsmanship. We stand behind our work and want you to remain as happy as the day you moved in.
