10 Steps to Building a New Home

Meet with Paul Gray Homes
You have decided to build a new home. At your first meeting, it is important to bring a folder of design ideas, a target price range for your new home, along with the location or area of town where you would like to build your new home. At this meeting, we will discuss your new home needs, style and dreams.
Design Meeting
Estimated meeting time: 1 to 2 hours
Estimated timeframe for new home design: 1 to 2 weeks

Contract
Once your new home design, building plan and price sheet are finalized, the next step is to write a contract.
Estimated meeting time: 2 hours

Financing
Once your contract is complete, you will take the contract to your lender. Then your lender will undergo the underwriting process. Once you have a commitment letter from your lender and appraisal, we are ready to move forward and break ground on your new home.
Estimated meeting time: 3-6 weeks (depending on lender)

Red Line Meeting
This is the final meeting before commencement of construction
Estimated meeting time: 60 to 90 minutes

Building Your New Home
It is time to break ground on your new home.
Estimated meeting time: 6-10 weeks

Rough-In Walkthrough
During the Rough-In Walkthrough, we will discuss plumbing, electrical, and HVAC placements.

Trim Walkthrough
During the Trim Walkthrough, we will discuss closet and pantry shelving placement. We will also verify design accents and placement of detail items.
Estimated meeting time: 30 to 60 minutes
Estimated timeframe: 4-5 weeks after Rough-In Walkthrough

New Home Orientation
At the New Home Orientation, Paul Gray Homes will show you all of the operational aspects of your new home. At this meeting, we also identify the remaining punch-list items that must be completed before closing.
Estimated meeting time: 1-2 hours
Estimated timeframe: 3 to 5 days before closing

Closing
Congratulations! It is time to close on your new home.
Estimated meeting time: 1 hour

Now that you own your home, you are backed by a 12-month home warranty on craftsmanship and quality. Paul Gray Homes stands behind our work, and we want to make sure you are as happy as the day you moved into your new home.
